Simple open
The opening of a balisong is the first thing you should think about doing before any of those other advanced tricks. Lets start off with telling you to hold the handle WITHOUT the lach on it. The handle without the latch is the safe handle, and the handle with the latch is the bite handle. In lamens terms, hold the safe handle. By holding the safe handle, the blade is on the other side of the knife and your hand will hit the back of the blade, which will not hurt nor make a difference. When you get that part down, flip the knife over your knuckles, as seen in the video. Then, turn the handle with your fingers 180 degrees to the left, so that the knife is over the back of your fingers. The last step is to flip the knife back towards you (still holding the safe handle) and move your thumb so the bite handle can flap up back onto the safe handle. The balisong should look like a regular knife, as seen in the video.
