The Balisong
The balisong is a weapon that originated in the Philippines, and is the oldest folding knife in history. it was originally made out of bamboo, bark, or wood. The parts of the balisong are complex with their original names, but easy with the renamed names. The Handle with the latch on it is called "The bite handle" because if you hold it by the bite handle it will cut you. this is because the blade is facing that way. the handle without the latch is called "The safe handle" because when you are holding it by that handle it will not cut you. this is because the spine of the blade will hit your hand or fingers and it will not harm you. the blade, is just called the blade. nothing special. the little pins that are at the top holding the blade and the handles are also very simple names; the pins, or sometimes they can be screws, depending on which one you get. The balisong is more famously known as the "Butterfly Knife" because of its unique style of folding. when it is being flipped, it looks sort of like a butterfly. they can be heavy, depending on which one you get, or they can be light. The light ones tend to be better and easier to flip. Some lighter models are the "benchmade 51 Morpho" and the "Bladerunners alpha beast".
